A dog and a frog were walking in the woods looking for a place to stay.
The clouds were black and the sky was dark. A storm was on the way,
They found the perfect spot under a big oak tree they spied
'till a long green snake crawled down a branch and said, "This tree's occupied"!
The frog and dog sat down on a log and considered what to do.
A yellow cat crawled out and spat, "Hey! Who are you?"
The Dog and the frog said to the cat, "We're looking for a place to stay.
Can you help us please? A storm is on the way."
"Inside my log is dry. You can stay with me," said the cat.
"Come inside and you will see. But don't step on Sir Bat."
The frog hopped inside the log and sat down by Sir Bat.
The cat cat crawled inside the log and sat down by the cat.
The dog stuck his head inside the log and tried to get inside.
He wouldn't fit inside the log, no matter how he tried.
The frog hopped outside the log and sat down by his friend, the dog.
"We stick together, you and I," he said. "We both get wet or we both stay dry."
The cat crawled out of the log and sat beside the frog and dog.
Sir Bat woke-up from his nap and went to sit beside the cat.
Thunder boomed and roared and cracked! Lightening lit the sky.
"Quick! Follow me," said Sir Bat. "If you want to all stay dry."
They flew and hopped and ran, and ran and hopped and flew.
They all stayed close behind Sir Bat. He knew just what to do.
The raindrops started falling down, soaking them, the trees, the ground.
"Sir Bat," said the cat, trying to hide his face.
"Tell me please. Are we getting closer to this place?"
"Here's the cave," said Sir Bat. "I was here when I was small.
It used to be much bigger, but it still will hold us all."
Sir Bat flew inside the cave. He was followed by the dog.
The cat ran inside the cave. She was followed by the frog.
The dog looked at Sir Bat, the cat, and his old friend, the frog.
"Sometimes it's very good, my friends," he said, "Just to be a dog!"
