Almost a year later . . .
It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since we first opened Poet Share’s friendly doors. Through trial and error we found a good mix of elements and have attracted only the highest caliber of writer into our home.
In the best interests of all of the members, and the true spirit of fellowship on which it was founded, Poet Share Forums is moving to a fresh platform. The New forums are user-friendly and far more stable: they are, quite frankly, safer for your computer. We welcome you to Poet Share Version 2!

The new forums have a ton of interesting things that you, the members, asked for: like being able to find all of a member's poems simply by going into their profile, chat, a portal page, uploading avatars and pics directly to the forums without having to host them elsewhere first, and more. The staff and I have been testing the new board and I cannot thank them enough for their steadfast support. We looked hard before deciding to change our site's host and have many positives that offset the few negatives we've found.
Beginning Tuesday, March 16, 2010 this Proboards site will no longer be open for new posts. You may still, of course, reply to any of the poems posted here: new poems can be placed only on the fresh Poet Share site.
As there are bound to be many questions, Jamie, Harklight and the Bards have tried to anticipate as many as possible and provide the following Q/A that we hope will help smooth this transition. Please feel free to ask any questions that are not covered.
What happens to my poetry that I've posted here, at the current Poet Share?
It will remain here on this site. You are welcome to re-post your threads on the new site. We ask that each member moves no more than 3 per day so that we all maintain fair replies.
How many threads can I re-post per day? Three.
For how long will I be able to move/remove my threads? No time limit at this stage.
What happens to my Contest poems at Version 1? They will stay unless you move them to the new site. Please repost no more than 3 per day from the old forums.
What security do I have against plagiarism? None, per usual on internet sites.
Will anyone monitor Version 1? Yes, occasionally.
Does my posting/karma count carry forwards? We realize karma is important to some people but unfortunately, it isn’t possible to carry these amounts over: we'll all start anew. A plus in the new karma system is that it isn’t limited to one exalt per hour. On Poet Share (Version 2), an entire thread explains the karma system.
Are Terms Of Service the same? Yes.
Will we still have Featured Poems, prompts and contests? Yes.
We earnestly hope that you will carry over your membership to the new site. With a crisper, more professional look, a more stable platform and a ton of new features at your fingertips, we think it won't be long before you agree that moving to the new Poet Share forums makes a great deal of sense.
New features:
· Upload flash or video directly with one click
· You may color your thread titles!
· Tons of smilies at your fingertips
· You may scroll your text up, down, right or left
· BBC and HTML compatible, instead of UBBC code
· View all of your own posts in one click
· View posts since your last visit in one click

We all hope that you move with us to the new, improved Poet Share!!
