Exiled in my own land I build clouds and castles In the air as I rub my hands diving slowly into this nothingness. My state is transient, I am just a number and nobody understands my language. There is no time for sentimentality. What I feel or even what you feel is unimportant. Life is a short odyssey and I can’t carry on, dragging dreams or those scars on torn papers. These same papers where this love was alive. I read Joyce, I read Lawrence, I read and read but nobody can answer me, nobody can draw stars on the palms of my trembling hands. I am exiled in my hungry silence.

oh my ~ Karla this is just so exquisite. I love the picture, but you painted your own so well with glorious imagery, and if a little sad it spoke with deep emotion, golden creativity and such grace. You are so very talented, in awe once again ~ Kerry xxx much love my friend xx

Karla how I have felt like this before that life is ticking and we're just exsiting another number in a populated realm of what? Loneliness and selfishness. The depth of your emotions in this piece touch me deeply, moving something within me and wanting to tell you it'll be ok, but can we ever be certain? xx brilliant poem

Sometimes I feel like that.Once there was an epidemy here and my daughter got sick.I felt she was just a number and it was a horrible sensation. This feeling still makes my heart ache. Thanks so much for your comments.

Beautifully done Karla. Your writing has such character and depth.
"Life is a short odyssey and I can’t carry on, dragging dreams or those scars on torn papers. These same papers where this love was alive."
There's so much going on behind and within these lines. You've once again woven a lovely tapestry of thought and word.
Inspiring.....
