Frankly, I don't know what to do to get people to participate in the Prompts boards and am looking for suggestions. Do you guys even check to see what the prompts are each week? Did you know we announce them on the blog when they're changed?
This week's Visual Prompt is a Smiley Challenge, which I would've thought would be a fun one . . . but no responses as yet.
If you all have suggestions/ideas, I'd love to hear them.

I tend not to do visual prompts, but I think putting the end-date in the prompts might give people an idea of what time frame they're working in. When you're not sure, and you think the prompt could be changed tomorrow, it's less likely you'll want to start something that may take a couple days.
Just a thought.

What to do... what to do....
Having read this post, I think I will look and take part in the prompts. Being new here (or re-newed as it were) I do not know how difficult they are, but this week's thing with the albums was too hard for me....
Another thing (which is no fault of anyone's) is that I found the Weekly Challenge board on TPS to be a little arbitrary in its selection process and I was a bit put off by the whole thing.
Maybes
1. Make the subjects wide enough to allow more people to take part. Maybe more thematic than topical. 2. Make the subject of the prompt visible on the first page. 3. Recognize serial participants with a title or karma or something...
If I think of more I will PM rather than post.
Jamie, you have done an amazing job with this site. You are to be congratulated.
T.

Oh, wow, I'd forgotten all about this post. heh thank you tristan and annie for the input. I'm glad you're enjoying the site, T. The visual prompt, as a regular thing, just hasn't caught on, so I'm doing away with it. I will keep note of what you've suggested as well. The entire point of this site is to promote a fellowship of poets, and that means listening to each other. Wait until you see what I have in store! he he
