Joe Nash wore number twenty-two And fielded games at short But Joey had another life That didn't deal with sport
He wrote and published poetry He used another name He didn't want the team to know About his secret shame
The reason that he lay so low Why he was so discrete Is that he wrote erotica About how bodies meet
But then he wrote a stunning piece That started quite a buzz ESPN and all the rest Soon found out who he was
Though some men did make fun of him The laughs did not persist The Times displayed his book of poems On their best-sellers list
Joey thought to hide himself But now he is a star Remember this and live by it-- Be proud of who you are

A wonderful write, Annie! It gives informed background info', showing his unwarranted shame instead of pride, and rises through the bold finale. Sound rhyme and a good message. H x

Brilliant rhyme and the moral of the story was brilliant, I found pleasure in reading so a thought-provoking and friendly poem such as this Ballad of Joe Nash, I feel closer to the guy and I haven't a clue who he is hehe! Great poem Annie truly inspired!
