In sweetened tea I am the honey crinkled leaves, drained and lying at the bottom of the cup. Ah, but getting there was venture enough to last until the finished pouring.
The dampness that is left upon my leaves are but remnants of the honeyed taste given any who may sip from the gold encrusted rim, imbibing of a pleasure fit only for the gods.
My place has been established amid unhurried conversations of proper ladies groups and in plush restaurants where crystal glasses await, In sweetened tea, I am the honey crinkled leaves. Ebonfire

It's fascinating how something so commonplace and simple can be made into intriguing poetry. "imbibing of a pleasure fit only for the gods." ~ and repeated first and last lines works here. Obviously, you like drinking tea but when the cup is drained, that sticky honey make reading the leaves more difficult. *lol H x

You have certainly shown how lucky the honey-crinkled tea leaf is. Ebonfire. One would have to be a tealeaf not to want to be a tealeaf, though obviously even tealeaves want to be tealeaves.

LOL - This was a challenge piece, and the first line was the trigger line except for the honey, I added that. I'm pleased to see that it is worthy of a few comments at least.
Thanks all.

A lovely poem that moves with the unhurried comfort that comes over one with a good cup of tea.
