I don't know where to post this, so I'm going to post it here. Hope that's all right.
Last Sunday night, my son (who is 34) had very serious seizures (he's never had one before) and has been in the hospital most of the week. He's had a CT scan, an EEG and MRI. The CT scan was clear, but we don't have the results of the EEG and MRI. His neurologist said he is positive it isn't a tumor, but until I see the results of the test, I won't rest. They say it's epilepsy. His doctor also said we are very lucky he didn't lapse into a coma because of the severity of the first seizure, in particular, and because he almost immediately went into three more after that one. I've been pretty upset. That's what's up with me right now.
I would appreciate prayers for him and us. He can't drive for six months (he works and is a college student). The medication they put him on makes him feel horrible. Hoepfully he can get on something else. He has to be on something--the risk is too great that he'll have another seizure.
Thanks, everyone.
Janet

Janet you have my thoughts and prayers and my phone is open anytime you need to call... matter of fact, you can even put me on speed dial if you want.
Sometimes things happen in life that make us realize we are all just here for a limited time, and if anything, it reminds us to enjoy the days we do have. Everyday the doctor will bring you better and better news, I can feel it, and the love you and your family have will help you get thru these early days of fear.
Tell your son that you have a lot of friends who are thinking about him right now and we will be your support group anytime you need us.
your friend for life,
Daniel

Dear Janet, My heart and prayers are ever with you. As Daniel said, I am available anytime, and you have my number. I want you to know how loved you are and how much support you have from all of us. You are so special to us and that love extends to your family. As a mother, I understand the need to see the results of the tests. I believe the outcome will be positive since there have been no previous incidents to indicate a tumor. I love you dear friend. Penny

Such awful news Janet, you must be beside yourself with worry, It does help to know others are thinking of you and of course we all are. Take heart in knowing Epilepsy is nowadays well controlled and many people life perfectly normal lives once it had been diagnosed and treated. Keep your chin up Gal.

Who could have better friends?! I'm not sure I deserve all of you, but I love you all!!!!! Michael is doing better....he's worked since Monday and the meds seems to be making him less tired. Haven't talked to him yet today (he's not living at home), but I'm sure he'll call. He usually does.
You have no idea what your love and support mean to me, guys. If anyone had told me I would have such great friends on the net several years ago, I would have been very skeptical. However, I found wonderful lifetime friends and it's wonderfl!
Much love Jan
