It’s just another one of those days Shattered your pride scattered on the ground. You must stand up now, be not afraid Battered but ready for the next round
No chance to live in far and reclusion Deep inside their heads, break their illusion
I’m not gonna show you how to fight It’s time to face your fears like a man You’ve got a golden chance tonight To dine in their ravaged blood-soaked lands
Be pleased with your enemy’s confusion As they fall to your wrath’s absolution
So you can stand up and win Or you can stay down and lose I taught you how to begin But only you can conclude
When they strike back, just strike rougher In broad daylight, with night’s cover Bring their doomsday, be death’s lover Forget kindness, AND MAKE THEM SUFFER
For years they’ve walked all over you, Relishing in your pain Now listen to what I tell you Raise your head from shame Show them everything but mercy Make their cries be in vain The blood-soaked pavement looks thirsty Your pleasure…their pain At last one in the same!

Brilliant Max, I loved it, I know we both share a love for V and this could almost be the letter found to the people of London after he gave his life for them. You touch on the pride we should have and hold against the oppressors of goverments! Another great Punk Poem!

MAX this is great!!! Perfect as a matter of fact. I love the movie. The poem makes me think of my favorite part of the movie when she is imprisioned and punished and shaved her head...and all the while...it was done to her by her ....if anyone hasn't seen the movie...look away..this is a spoiler.....
all the while it was by V. He did it to her to rid her of fear. That part in the movie shook my nerves. The things we do or don't do out of fear. Great poem...I love it!!

I really enjoyed this, but the following stanza really made the most impact on me as I read your wonderful poem: This reminded me of how as a parent, I have tried to teach my kids that the power to overcome ultimately lies within themselves. I can't be there for them every single minute of their lives. Exalt is all I can say...EXALT!

Yeah you pretty much captured the effect of your poem from the film's projected idea --- good one as well, can't really add on to this then what other posters just said.
Keep em' commin'
