‘til the sun turns black
Sadness in my eyes at the barfly you’ve become, empty, devoid of love within you. Lesson learned, you’ve gone away from me Though I wish you could be here now.
We fell truly, madly, deeply into the great ocean, promises that love would keep us afloat ‘til the sun turns black, three more days And you can bring me flowers, straight to my grave ~
Can I stay? Please tell me I can stay Though as I look out to the sky I see the sun turned black.
Album ~ RAY LAMONTAGNE ~ TIL THE SUN TURNS BLACK
tracks:
be here now empty barfly three more days can I stay you can bring me flowers gone away from me lesson learned truly, madly, deeply til the sun turns black within you

Nice write, Kerry...good use of the album title and songs...I like the emotion in this piece.
Good entry!

Brilliant album and soloist choice Kermit, one of my favourites as you know, this was deeply sad I thought you had actually mixed your emotions in with the song titles which was brilliant, how you're feeling expressed through the titles of this album was done with great flow and exceptional fluidity. Loved this short but masterful piece!!! xxx

I googled Ray Lamontagne today and listened to a few of his songs on U-Tube, it's unfortunate he isn't big in America as I would love to buy one of his albums but I would have to special order it in. His voice is smooth, his guitar playing sweet and his songs, with the background instruments, and the feelings of deep soul reminded me of Van Morrison music only perhaps a bit more personal and not quite as bluesy
Your poem is so sad. It reaches out to someone who is lost and may not even be aware.
As Jay said, brilliant choice. enjoyed.
