Occasional Genius
In most minds lies genius dormant Where times and chance Find relevance In mild circumstance concordant
Venerated for happenstance, When recognized Genius thrives, Now cultivating man's advance--
Given mankind's spurts of progress-- Recovering "Discovering"-- What of men of lesser genius?
Those with talent still yet to find? The question begs: What powderkegs Await within the latent mind?

A nice egalitarian sentiment, Jamie, expressed with precision in metre and rhyme. Though I tend to think that people more or less realise their potential so far as it is there to realise.

I have to disagree with Pol, alot of peoples talents can lay dormant for years and stumbling upon a talent can be natural too, I think many people of the world who are living and dead undermine their potential of being a genius in their art. Brillaint Jamie, Glad to see you in this board!

I loved this Jamie. I truly think that there are so many out there who fail to live up to their potential. They say that each of us only utilize 10% of our brains. When you think of that, it is astounding. To me anyway. Exalt.

Brilliant piece, Jamie ~ tight in form, strong rhythm, flow and rhyme. I've often wondered this about people with Autism, Downs Syndrome and internal thought conditions that we barely accept exist, let alone understand. What genius awaits us? That 10% is actually an Urban Myth, Stacy. It was once considered true but we use far more and what we utilise, can easily access and bring forward are different. Great write and definitely worth more than a moment's thought. H x
