Honourable Member.
Honourable Member of Parliament Do you remember me, you shook my hand At the last election and you inspired me.
A fairer world you promised An end to poverty. You patted little babies heads So I gave you my precious vote, I trusted you.
I gave my life to caring for the mentally ill Day in day out giving my all as a care worker Sometimes a most unpleasant job, but I did it.
Now I am disabled, each breathe a tiny battle I looked to you to help me, to care for me in my misery How did that go? You know, the ending of poverty?
It seems that you certainly ended your poverty You voted yourself huge pay rises But increases for the disabled? No
You furnished your second home with my money Then sold it for profit and avoided the tax due to me Maybe I could have eaten meat this week, but for your disgusting greed.
Do you sleep soundly honourable member? I do not, I clutch my blanket and weep I shudder when the postman brings a bill.
I heat just one room nowadays I had to sell my car to pay the council tax Do you hear me honourable member?
Shame on you and your kind Pigs with your snouts in the trough Shame on you.

Brilliant Dr, the emotion behind this write is amazing you show frustration, pain and anger towards the member who was supposed to chnage things for the better. Not rip you off and leave you in agony and without care. This truly is an inspiring write that touched me deeply! Lets hope them pigs get their just desserts!

This was a great, great write good doctor. This is a subject that crosses oceans and cultural lines, and certainly is meaningful to me. The pain and suffering at the hands of self-centered politicians is not a new practice, but certainly more visible in modern times. A great write, you sum up much of how I feel. Exalt, doctor.

Didn't I read this, or something very similar to this from your talented, poetic pen at TPS? I loved this foggy. So often those we trust with decisions that affect so many often mislead us and end up letting us down once they are seated in their political positions of power. This has passion in every word and cries out to the reader to take notice. I only hope that those in Parliament read this and take notice as to what their actions are doing to so many. Exalt!

I can best sum up what I feel about this poem by quoting my friend Sid who appears in my little story Culture Night “I’ve lived under god knows how many Prime Ministers and been bleedin poor under every one of em” With you all the way Doctor
