That's the other thing that mama said while dinner was cooking, she'd be Looking directly at your wrong, letting you know you had better slow your roll or that banana peel would be your ride to hell.

What mama said is now a memory resonating in conscious thought, a gentle whispered reminder... don't disrespect the family name by tangling up with shame.

Mothers enjoy admonishing their children; it's one of the few perks remaining now they are not allowed to use the rod. Still, this poem has a sad nostalgic flavour as if you regret that your mother no longer restrains your headstrong flight into moral error. A nicely ambiguous poem.

V you also know I love this piece, the depth of a mothers wisdom is endless and they continue to teach us about the world until the end of time, I am a momma's boy and I don't care who knows, she is one of my bestfriend! Love this too!!

Your mama sounds like my gramma. I carry her lessons with me everyday and miss her dearly. Thank you for bringing me back fond memories.
