aah, this has strong lyrical tone, Jim. I was caught in the rhythm and had to re-read the words. This reunion feels like a reconciliation and an awakening before turning into a finale. The last stanza is especially strong. *exalt! H x

Brilliant Jim, i loved this piece, my favourite piece by you so far, what are we doing? what is the point? and where is our destination, thought provoking depth in this piece it questions the realms of reality and human mortality, I can appreciate these thoughts, and you put them across so fluently with great rhyme. Exalt!

I'll exalt this as well. I don't think I get to read enough longer poetry from you, Jim. This is just as good as your Haiku, my friend. And the title is such a perfect fit. I'd have never have thought of it.

thank you for the replies and the exalts. very humbling coming from such great poets. not that I don't believe in God,but, I guess I was trying to point out how short life is. when we look back will we wonder what all the hub bub was about, and will we feel like all the fighting was a big
waste of precious time?

Jim, this is a hard hitting truth. I often sit and speculate what the point might be. Not in a depressed way, just in a philosophical way. Spending so much time doing things that won't matter next week, much less in 50 years. I watch my pup and try to take cues from her. She is happy if she has enough sleep, enough to eat, a comfortable place to exist, some playtime, and love. This is incredibly thought-provoking, my friend. One of your best. More please? Exalt! Pen

First of all you blew me away with this Jim.
In that plain forthright style of yours you've simply said it all. For all of our racing about, and this and that, we'd be best to do a little loving of one another before the dust settles.
This was bumpin!
Exalt.
