It’s true that being blind she sensed So much more than the eyes could see. She learned balance, faith and compassion, As one, Bess had set her free. They bonded from the beginning Knew each contour, felt at ease. Her black mare was so patient, So eager was she to please.
Trust between them was so very strong, She picked her footing with care, This bond was truly unbreakable Between her rider and this mare. She cantered carefully through meadows, Bess would truly kind of ‘see’ All the things that nature gave which made her feel quite free.
They went together everywhere, She loved the wind against her face, The trust between them never faltered This gentle mare her saving grace. In the stable at night she would whisper Much thanks to her trusty steed, In return Bess would nuzzle gently They understood each others needs
Thank you Jamie. As you know I have a passion for horses. I had my mare in mind when I wrote this, I'm glad you liked it. She was so gentle for a heavy breed (Fell). She was black and beautiful with such a kind nature. I miss her so much. Horses are so intuitive, gentle and careful. My first pony used to come in our house lol ... I know she is happy in her new home, sorry to ramble .. K xxxx
Kerry this brought a huge smile to my face. I really needed to read something like this today. The gentle nature of horses can only be grasped by a fellow horse lover ! The bond between horse and rider is one that is matched by few. You have so a way with words and the subject is also one that is close to my heart. Absolutely beautiful! *big hugs* ~Sarah
