Tender words in the dead of night No comprehension of being wrong or right Emotions fly, hearts entwine "Always," "Forever," will you be mine But "shh," it's a secret Parting ways like the sea of red Though thoughts of you fill my head Is it shame or guilt that holds your tongue? I sing your song loud yet mind stays unsung Because "shh," it's a secret So many times I sit here alone Praying the moon replaces where the sun shone Simply pathetic this existence I lead With nothing to do but hope, dream, and plead So "shh," it's a secret Torrid Romeo and Juliet but in this tragic show While her world is informed, his must never know I wonder how long can he continue this charade Until she becomes just a game, well played Forever, "shh," I'm a secret.

Sarah wonderful form and flow to this piece and how very sad. Your heart seems so hurt and lonely right now .. if this is fiction it sure tugged at my heart strings, keeping love a secret has its pitfalls and tears you apart, so well written, exalt. K xxxx

love is a very complex emotion yet, taken basically, very simple. In the perfect world, then love can always shine between two people, as I'm sure they would both want it.. however, in the real world sometimes other people's feelings get in the way..
I have the idea in this that the persons who's feelings are hurt is one of the two in love, that the other one is just in it for the sake of "playing her".. If this is true, then I would argue that this is not really love, but an attraction going nowhere. Love must be shown on both sides to be real.
I do hope that this poem is just you telling a story that happens so often in life. Some guys think being a "player" makes them special. These guys wouldn't know love if it hit them and trust me, one day it will and I can only hope the girl they do fall in love with plays them instead.
tc my friend, enjoyed
