So where is the mountain conquered? Instead of blue sky there are stars ~ Still they light my way, but the rock is gone. The rock was my safety, my friend. Suddenly the security is gone and I walk alone.
The path is rugged as these feet stumble. Falls seem imminent, one expects them When walking on unfamiliar territory. Blindfolded this heart carries on But fears the next step along the way.
Dear guardian angel please stay by my side. At this point you are needed and called upon, All this soul requires is love to hold it steady, So much pain has passed before me; Hold my hand and guide me forward.

The realisation that we are alone can be daunting, forcing us to search within for self-reliance.

I agree with Pol, the leaving of some feelings can seem daunting at time but you also the welcome those that open the path to new feelings and new ways. A sad and melancholy write that was beautiful and thought provoking, Great poem my friend xx

This felt to me like it was a plea, but one that had a hidden strength in it. There is despair and melancholy to this piece, but also a silver lining on the horizon, in my opinion. Whatever the case may be, simply a beautiful piece Kerry. So heartfelt and honest... just what I like to see

Others have commented on the content of the poem so I will confine my remarks to the poem as a piece of poetry. For me this is your finest I have yet to read from your pen. It’s so good to witness the promising buds open to full flower, Congratulations Kerry Exalt

Hmmm...use of the word rock has probably different connotations for me, so I'll just say first how beautiful this is, and the growing strength that belies in it.
