I wish people would keep their promises...it may not seem like much to them but it means something to the ones they make them to...

I wish I didn't feel like Redstone right now. . . popularity cliques SUCK. People who write crap and have others fawning over their every word, while my posts sit and rot. (Not here, my friends)

Thanks Kerry. I just deleted over 100 dead posts for the 2nd day in a row to clean up TPS boards, invisible work, you know, and watched someone post in a board and get 3 replies in ten minutes. It must be nice, is all I'm saying. I mean, there's someone with under 200 posts total who got more replies to their challenge piece (and more views) than many better, more established poets over there and it just PISSES ME OFF! I mean, my challenge piece is funny, dammit!
I guess I should be posting this in the Bitch thread! lol

Funnily enough i posted a couple of what i considered to be my better poems this week and the replies were few and far between. And of course in sadness at TPS they shoot down the page like lightening. Its just something we have to endure.

Thing is, I got a lot more replies when I was just a mod. And I worked half as hard. It's very discouraging. *sigh* Ok, rant over.

Jamie thats why this place is so cool, TPS is a wonderful site but a victim of its own success ... rules need to be tighter, too many newbies not sticking to rules, its so impersonal. Please don't get discouraged, we have here, this is our home for us friends where we can read each others work without rushing .... ((((((((((((much love))))))))))))))))))))K xxxx

I wish I was as good at time management as you all seem to be. There are a lot of incredible poets at TPS that are very kind in their responses to my poetry. I just wish I could do them justice in my replies like they do to me. I also wish to read Jamie's entire Sorcerer's Apprentice series as soon as I am able... *rubs magic lamp* (but seriously... I am going to read them all one of these days).

You know, I mod and I make sure my boards have 3 replies if I can, I am guilty of not reading my froends stuff sometomes and it makes me feel bad, I just don't have time at the moment .... one of these days I'm gonna get me a bag of popcorn and make a point of just replying to my friends, my fav poets .... sigh. Love y'all, huggies, Kerry xxxx

Picking up your rant, Jamie, it's here too! Two of mine have 0 replies and a few others have 1. Over there, few people appreciate hours of behind-scenes work while some great poems are ignored and receive only staff reviews. It's a b*tch to see trashy poems receive glowing replies and exalts just cos writers are uber friendly outside of their writing. /end rant. I wish I had time to read and reply to "everyone" or pick and choose to whom I reply.

Personally I don’t judge my work on the amount of replies it receives, especially on PTS. So many are just abiding with the three to one rule, its debatable whether some even bother to read the poem before posting ‘Great write, Awesome etc; or Mods striving to achieve the 3 comments before the poem vanishes forever.
It’s pretty easy to know when a comment is genuine and I think most of us come to respect the judgement of those members who read and are genuine in their comments on our work. I think also we should remember that PS is still in its infantsey, so a few poems will hang around with 1 or 2 replies as have some of mine, but the fact that they are not chased off the page by the volume of posts or by ‘Bumpers’ ( the scourge of PTS) means they do have further comments made. I can vouch for that.
As I read and try my best to make helpful, thoughtful comments it can be time consuming, so I set aside hopefully a couple of hours to make replies without posting any work of my own. But being the single male amongst five females 1 wife, 1 thirteen yr old 1 eight yr old 1 six yr old and a baby sometimes it’s difficult. Mostly I’m online during working hours.

Poet share has 65 members approx, TPS has officialy 35000, but active members its probably more like 1000. So look at it this way 1 comment on poet share is the same as 1000/65 which is 15. The abysmal voting figures on the prompts was alarming too, 6 people voted in the brain box comp. It seems clear to me we need more members and i have myself steered a few in this direction. 2 or three hundred would seem a good figure to me and something to aim for. Every member of Poetshare must know a few poets they respect, so invite them! A slightly bigger Poet share, thats my wish.
