Standing upon heart valley ridge I saw the bridges that had burnt pieces adrift upon the waters
Though they served well their time or reason they were destined seasons to bear the steps trod upon them
Broken pieces from broken promises which found their filling in another heart’s reservoir languishing empty
Knowing now a temporary passing over was the exact design of the trestle built for my travels
Now having stood upon those borrowed surfaces I realize the undergirding lift to present elevated perch
To touch the raindrops moisture softly bathing my souls drought to renew it’s dried and withering grasses Thirst driven to survive the bad lands my solace chants "it smells water" just over the next bridge

This reads to me like you're reminiscing on times past or even potential loss (the broken promises line made me think that), and that this poem is about the future opportunities that you are ready to meet. However, that's just my interpretation, this is a fine write no matter the case. Rich with beautiful imagery and metaphors, well done! -Max

V this is just beautiful, the flowing words sang to me and lulled. Your work just gets better with every read, and it was fantastic in the begining. Hugs, K xx

Just over the next bridge is about all of life, the good, the bad, the indifferent. Love comes love goes, let us never be fully broken by anything but death.
Max I'm glad you enjoyed.
Kerry that was a very kind thing for you to say.
Thank you both
