Yes, that is possible, both here and at TPS. I am sending you a PM and will also post the method here when I have it typed up. Pretty simple, but I'm a wee bit busy. Gimme half an hour. Go into your profile and click "bookmarks" Click where it says "click here to manage bookmarks preferences" Choose which option you like from the dropdown menu-- No notification PM notification Email notification Then just remember to bookmark the threads you want to be emailed about and you're golden.

Critique Boards
A few thoughts on critique boards. I think that we all will agree that their only function is to help to improve on the overall standard of the poets and writers who post their work there, the key word is help.
It follows that the critic has to have reached a standard to enable him/ her to give that help and as we all are amateurs in that respect we have a problem, but we have some damn good poets here on site and I am not asking for professionals, On TPS ( I only mention the site because most of us are familiar with how it works) the critique boards insist that all who post there are required to act as critic's themselves, while I fully appreciate the reason for this, I really can’t see how it can be of much use to anyone. Further, it is a deterrent for any new poet who faces the daunting task of criticising work that is far more advanced than their own.
If I may suggest an alternative, perhaps not now but as the site grows. Two critics to be asked to serve in that capacity and appointed by the administrators, one for poetry and prose combined and one for the different techniques employed in short story writing. I really feel that this will be more encouraging for members who are genuinely seeking to improve on their own work.

I was actually seriously considering just removing the Critique boards. At least for now, until (if) we get enough folks here to merit having one. The responses and postings are pratically nil, and the TPS Critique board serves the function quite frankly much better than we do here. Though some of the critiques are not actually helpful over there, there is at least the potential for many more eyes to see a piece and critique it.
However, if we had volunteers to run the Critique board that would be a different matter. Worth discussing, certainly.

[bgcolor=blue]Oh and this is not so much a suggestion, more a search for re-assurance.
You know how kids can't resist pushing a button when they see it? or how a cliff seems to draw you to the edge? ok well when I modify my profile I am drawn to that damn DELETE ACCOUNT button. I need assurance that "If" I were to click on it I would get an "are you sure" message rather than have my account irrevocably blitzed!!!!!

Heres another one for my wish list, I guess an impossible one. When i scroll down the front page for a board near the bottom it shoots right down into the area where members on line etc are kept, so I then have to scroll back up. What would be really smooth is if the scroll stopped or slowed or paused at the last board. if i wanted to go further down then another click of the mouse would do it. Also, and this probably already exsists (most of my suggestion seem to already be there, I just havent found them) Could we be able to set preferences in our reply box and pm box for BG colour and Font colour? In the area where we can ban PM's from members we do not like , could it be re-named "Your dead to me" just seems fitting

I don't have that problem. The reply background and font colors are determined by which Skin you're using. (Check the Announcement about Skins Previews). The only way to change them is within the replies themselves using the Background button and Font dropdowns supplied. I don't think there's a custom fix for each person under "preferences" anywhere. I'll look for a hack, though.

Foggy, when fast scrolling happens, does a white circle appear (where your cursor was) with an up/down arrow and a dot in the middle? If so, that's easily fixed. Lemme know. H x

I'm worried about Dr. Fogg's avatar.. yesterday it was blowing smoke rings and one was ending up like a halo around his head and now today.. (weep) it looks like the top of his head has split open and something is flying out.. The good thing is he is not smoking as heavy as he was yesterday but I am afraid medical attention may be needed for it..

Dear Terrorized in Toon Town. Re my flying eyes. I have had the ability to send my eyes on surveylance missions from when I was in the SAS and became the subject of some bizzare genetic experiments initiated by the CIA. It is usefull to be able to send ones eyes forward into enemy strong holds but has the distinct disadvantage that when my eyes are off on some mission I cant see a damn thing where I happen to be standing!

I wonder if it’s possible to add an additional board on Drops of poetry i.e. poems that are limited to 5 lines or less. If that’s out of the question maybe added to one of the existing boards. These little pieces carry quite an impact and are quite a challenge too.
