I personally like a spotlight sort of thing every week. I know that sounds a lot like TPS. Maybe we could change it a bit, name it something else, or maybe even do it like once a month. Also, I wanted to let you know that I think a contest area is a good idea as well. I would be up to hosting some if you would like. I also make graphics and have some uploaded to the many photo sites I'm a member of. I could make graphics for contests, spotlight, weekly challenges, whatever. And I know I have made some and given out at the other site. I would have no problem totally making new ones just for here with anything you needed me to do, ideas you had in mind, maybe even making graphics for the site itself. Just let me know. Wanted to throw my ideas out there. Quite frankly, I was getting sick and tired of them talking to me inside my head begging me to let them out....lol. Hugs~~~ Stacy

A member contest area might be something for a little while in the future, Stacy. I've got it on the worksheet. Not enough eyes to mod for something like that right now, though. Will PM again re: graphics.

Nancy, if you can read this, I'm sending you an email with "Poetshare" in the subject line. You have NOT been blocked on my end and of course are welcome here!!
Try clearing out the cookies and cache on your computer. Then come back here, log out (since you said it shows you "on"), then log back in.
I've checked everywhere I can think of and can't find a problem on my end.

Apparently Nancy is locked out of TPS as well, so it's not just Poetshare that's affected. Does anyone know anything about Security Settings on a PC? Or what else might be happening?

She's probably thought of it but: might need to adjust her firewall to allow access to these sites. Also, AVG 8.5 have recently upgraded link scanner and I think Norton has a similar barring system. If they detect sites as "unsafe", they should ask for permission to open. Depending on what protection she has, she might have to tell the systems to always permit access. Fingers xx'd

I think perhaps we need to set up separate threads for the different board enties in the contest, as it will become increasingly difficult to sort the poems by topic as the number grows. Even though 12 sub-topics is a lot, it will be more manageable that 12 times the average number of submitted poems.

If you'd like to invite them please go ahead, and I'll look for their accounts to activate them. Please use email to invite, not PM's at TPS. You know what? Screw it. I'm just going to open the site up to the public and if we can't handle it oh, well. Everyone, please go ahead and invite who you wish. Make sure they're nice people. No jerks--I've got a penchant for banning jackasses. Konch is a friend, more than welcome here.

I don't know if opening it to the public is such a good idea Jamie, I mean its your site and you can do what you want but look at the mess TPS has gotten into with flaming, ignorant posters, 'some real poor poetry' lets not kid ourselves. I just think the locked door makes this feel a little bit more like a sanctuary. Thats just my opinion, although I think adding new people we know and enjoy reading is still a great idea.

Well, I understand where you're coming from, Jay, but I have no qualms about banning people if they cause trouble, and if it gets like that I will make it private again. But just until we grow a little I'd like to give it a chance. So we can maybe meet a few new people. I dunno.
I hate being the boss of anything, really. Decisions are not my forte.
