The lights are set low music soft and vibrating
You slide toe to toe Left -right back, forward again
You dance so Splendidly Your body moves eloquently You make everyone sway
The lights shimmer with every move Waving magically your colors are adorned
Once the music stopped I gazed your exit to the door That twinkle of beauty left the room
In the distance I followed You stripped the outer shell Looking within I clearly see
Not as radiant as all believe Just décor for all to memorialize
You are no longer lighting the room Yet your essence lingers the same [/color]

Very lovely write gentlewind. When people are on stage they always have a kind of presence I think. All the glamour of it, the smell of the greasepaint they used to say The imagery was lovely and the vocabulary good. It could be a metaphor I thought, for someone who is looking ok on the outside yet hurting inside? Or it could be about the dancer, each way it is a great write, penned with elegance. I love how the essence of this person lingers after they'd left, great poem. Kerry xx

There's a rarified air to this piece, very lovely indeed, gentlewind. We all maintain an artifice in public, yet reveal our true selves rarely, shedding our shells when we think none are watching.

Peel away the outer layers, gentlewind, and more often than not, the glimmer fades. When it comes to music and dance, I think we feel more freedom than we usually have. In this case, for as long as you are privileged to share it ~ Let there be glitz! A surreal write. H x

Thanks for the nice words my friends..... When I wrote this poem.. It had nothing to do with dancing.... Kerry and Jamie hit the nail on the head..........
