Just breathe in through your nose, nice and deepAll of these thoughts and ideas that invade My ears, my mouth, my nose, and my brain Leave me feeling enlightened Or perhaps just temporarily insane Whatever is the case, I enjoy it either way It’s a struggle just to stay awake and breatheConspiracies in my mind of man on the moon The TV rattles “4 troops died today on the Afghan dunes” My very being is being enveloped, absorbed, and consumed By thoughts, principles and philosophies that I never knew I didn’t think that the process would take form so soon Somewhere in between life, eternity, death and sleepSomewhere in the background I hear a man speak But all I can focus on is the numbness of my cheek And the thoughts in my mind, ceaselessly spiraling Holy Hell, now I’m in a plane, diving into the sea My conscience would tell me that this cannot be But I don’t care now, for the first time I am freeAt long last I come to my senses Losing my hallucinogenic lenses I leave the office, having learned something from the dentist Anesthetics and laughing gas: combined, my soul cleanses

We certainly do receive a lot of confusing and inconsistent messages through the social engineers and politicians. On occasion, hallucinogens may seem to provide us at least with the clarity of mind that comes from not trying to fit all the contradictions and misinformation together. Well said, Max. [But you might benefit by working on your scansion, instead of just letting it all out in a spontaneous gush.]

An entertaining topic (sorry it was the dentist) and you have captured the imagination in this piece. The scenario is very clear and I related to some of this through general anaesthetic "dreams". Thankfully, dentists don't use laughing gas here. Hallucinations from both could be as disconnected and "enlightening" as you've described. Very cleverly written. H x
