Mandy’s ABC
This is an old piece I wrote some time ago and I don’t claim any credit for it. That belongs to Mandy my seven year old daughter, yes most of this is her observations on life and puts a whole different meaning on ‘coming from the left field’ apologies to those that have read it on TPS but I hope you will enjoy it just one more time.
A is for Arnie my Hamster. He died dead yesterday
B is for the Baby. It doesn’t talk just cries and screams. I spect it will cry and scream for ever and ever.
C is for Cat. Mummy took him to the vet doctor. I think he did something horrid to him. He meows all the time and staggers around like he’s looking for something
D is for Daddy. I love him lots cos when I fight with Melanie and we get sent to bed early; He always comes up with drinks and biscuits and tells us a story. He is good at stories.
E is for Easter. I like Easter cos you get lots of chocolate; but I bet poor Jesus didn’t like it!!
F is for Fairies. I have never seen a fairy, Melanie says she did. But Melanie tells fibs.
G is for God. He is old and has this big beard right down to his belly. Oh and he is Jesus’ daddy
H is for Harry. My uncle, Daddy doesn’t like him. He told him to go away once and said a very rude word; He He He
I is for Ill. I like being ill cos everyone’s so nice, even my sisters
J is for Jesus. They told us at Sunday school that you have to pray to him for things. I ask for loads and loads but never get them. I suppose he’s not very good at it, Father Christmas is much better.
K is for Kitten. I love kittens, mummy says I may have one now that the cat has been seen to. I wonder what she means.
L is for Love. Giselle is always going on about love but it doesn’t seem to make her happy
M is for Mummy. I love her lots but she can be ever so strict when I’m naughty. Oh, and she smells ever so nice.
N is for Nancy. She is my bestest friend, but I hate her sometimes.
O is for Opera.. Yuk!! Daddy likes it and he won’t play at anything when he’s listening.
P is for Pops. My granddad I love him lots, he is really good fun. He has this rude lady picture on his arm; I’m going to get one when I’m old enough. When you sit on his lap you can see little hairs growing out of his nose, Wow!!
Q is for the Queen. She is very old and lives in a big castle; she has got a crown but she never wears it. If I had a crown I would wear it all the time.
R is for Robin. My teacher at ballet school. We used to have Miss Temple, but she left. I maybe a ballerina, if I don’t get too fat.
S is for School. Yuk Yuk YUK
T is for Teeth. I haven’t got any in the front. I wish they would come back
U is for Unity, that’s my aunt’s name; Daddy says it’s a silly name because she never got on with anyone. That makes mummy laugh.
V is for Venice. We went on holiday there. It was great and we went on a boat with a man with a big pole. The people talk funny.
W is for Wand. Oh! That’s the bestest thing ever. If I had a magic wand I could do loads of things. Specially to Grant that horrid kid who keeps trying to kiss me. I could turn him into a toad, keep him in a jar, and turn him upside down to hear him squeal
X is for Xmas. I love Xmas, lots and lots of presents. We save some of our pocket money to buy a present for mummy and daddy; we have three pigs to save in and do you know there is always heaps more than we put in.
Y is for Young. I’m young and it’s horrid. They never let you do things you really want to.
Z is for Zoo’s. I don’t like zoos they smell horrid and they keep all the animals locked up. When I’m Queen of England I am going to let them all out, even the Lions and Tigers.
