A new homeSad was he that little chap as he was sent so far away. Yet inside his heart he knew that he was needed badly that day. By a little girl so sad and sweet who stared out at the snow, So with a little bag packed the little chap prepared to go. He’d been so long at the charity shop, he now had a very good cause. So off he went with his magic umbrella and snow caught in his paws. A chilly breeze lifted him so high as he watched the trees go by, Snowy hills with icing sugar drifted gently by winters sigh. Before very long he saw her pretty face light up with glee, She opened up the window, ‘Mr Bear are you for me?’ He landed safely in her arms, she smothered him with love. That little bear now had a home and the girl a gift from above

Ah that’s very sweet Kerry, whether it was a Steiff or a Woolies bear I bet it didn’t matter to the little girl. Loved your poem, well done

KK, my heart swells with the love and beauty your soul contains. This should be shared with every child. Love given and received. You are so beautiful and your writing shows the love you feel. Lady B

Your imagination is wonderful, Kerry. Great story-telling, with sound rhyme to carry it through to a joyful ending. Kudos, H x

This is really sweet. I'm going to show it to my 11-yo. Would it be okay if he read it at a poetry group (assuming he likes it as much as I think he will)?
