I wanted to create something different, so I thought about "The Poet Share Cafe". When I decided to write my poem for last weeks poetry prompt, I decided to tape it and upload it to youtube to be different. I know that NewMan used to read a lot of his poetry on a local radio show in his area, and used to go to a coffee shop where he could read his poetry to an audience. So he inspired me to do this. Thank you, NewMan. I thought it would be a great way for us to grab a cup of coffee (or whatever your drink of choice is, ), take a seat, and enjoy each others spoken poetry. And what better place to do that than here at Poet Share? Below you will see the video I posted for last weeks poetry prompt, but I just wanted to post it in here as an example. I know a lot of you don't have a clue about youtube or how to do this, and that's fine. If this doesn't get a lot of positive response, I'll simply delete the thread.
The camera I found that works best for this was at WalMart. It cost around $89, but it was on clearance. But it was a steal, really, as it came with the video camera (which also takes photos), battery charger, tripod, two sets of rechargeable batteries, the memory card, protective case for the camera, the USB cord for uploading onto your PC, cords to hook the camera into your TV to watch on your TV, cords to watch in HD if you have the appropriate HD TV, as well as a software program so that you can tweak your videos and play around with them, lol. Once you get the camera, just shoot your video, hook it up to your PC through the USB cord once the software is installed, and then simply go to youtube and upload your video. That's all there is to it. Now I'm not saying run out and buy this. That's not what this thread's about at all. I was just letting you know how I do it, in case anyone was interested and wanted to give it a try. Some of you probably have the capability of uploading videos to youtube already. And really, it's easier than you might think. If I can do it, anyone can.
So let's get started. Get your drinks, grab your smokes, take a seat, and start sharing in The Poet Share Cafe.
